I grew up in the upper Midwest where the seasons change every few months. Spring turns into summer, summer into fall, and fall into winter. Now, I’ve always liked the change in seasons. It keeps things interesting, and there’s beauty in all four seasons. But when February rolls around and the cold and snow refuse to give way to warmer temps, I’m more than ready for winter to call it quits. I long to leave the house without having to wrap myself in multiple layers of outerwear all in the hopes of staying warm while out in the cold. I’d love to wear sandals and short sleeves and feel the warm sun on my face. I’d like to sit on the porch with cold glass of Blueberry Banana Smoothie or Cranberry Orange Smoothie.
But since that dream is a few months off, the best I can do right now is bring a bit of the tropics inside. That’s why I love this new healthy smoothie recipe filled with vitamin C. The tropical flavors of mango, pineapple, and kiwi are a real treat; and if I turn up the heat in the house, put on my sandals, and sit back in a comfy chair sipping on this Tropical Fruit Smoothie I can get a taste of summer.
